How to make Sữa Chua (Vietnamese Yogurt)

Happy New Year Guys! Today we’re making Vietnamese Yogurt, also known as Sữa Chua. If you’re a fan of creamy, slightly sweet, and utterly scrumptious treats, you’ll love this!

Today, we’re bringing the flavors of Vietnam straight to your kitchen with a super simple recipe that requires just three magical ingredients: yogurt, condensed sweet milk, and a dash of vanilla extract.

How to make Sữa Chua (Vietnamese Yogurt)

Ingredients

  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk

  • 1 1/3 cup of yogurt (with probiotic/live cultures)

  • 1 1/3 cup of room temp water

  • 2 2/3 cups hot (not boiling) water

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions

  • In a bowl whisk together condense milk with hot and then room temp water.
  • Whisk in the yogurt and then strain mixture to remove any lumps. Pour mixtures into jars (make sure they’re all similar height when you pour them in the jars.)
  • Seal jars or place double saran wrap on top. Place into a pot and pour in hot (not boiling) water until its over the yogurt line. Place the lid on the pot and set in a cool place for 5 hours (I put mine in the oven). Once time is up, refrigerate for 2-3 hours then enjoy!
