Ingredients

  • 3/4 c dried lotus seeds

  • 3/4 c dried pearl barley

  • 1 c dried seaweed

  • 1 1/2 c dried longan

  • 1 1/2 c dried jujubes

  • 3/4 c dried goji berries

  • 3 small palm sugar pieces

  • 1 bar Chinese brown sugar

  • 9 c water

Directions

  • Soak the lotus seeds and pearl barley overnight. Soak the seaweed, jujubes, goji berries for 1 hr. Add 2 cups of water to the soak the longans for 1 hr.
  • In a pot, boil the seaweed for 3 mins and remove. Repeat with pearl barley and cook for 12-13 mins and remove.
  • Add 9 cups of water to a pot and bring to a boil. Add juice from soaking the longans. Cook the lotus seeds for 15 mins. Then add jujubes, goji berries, longan, seaweed, and barley.
  • Add palm sugar and Chinese brown sugar to taste. Serve on ice.
