Super EASY Air Fryer Bánh Bao Kẹp Xá Xíu (Char Siu Pork Belly Buns)!

Today’s recipe was highly requested. We are making Bánh Bao Kẹp Xá Xíu also known as Char Siu Pork Belly Buns in the air fryer!

Any Asian family growing up knows what it was like to go and pick up some fresh Thịt Xá Xíu at our local butcher/restaurant. They would have massive amounts of char siu pork and Peking ducks for you to buy right off the roasting racks. You would order by the pound how much you would want and they would chop it right there and then for you.

The thing is they can get a little expensive because of inflation nowadays and sometimes these restaurants aren’t available in your area. I know growing up in Minnesota we had to drive over a couple cities to get it. So today we are making a quick easy version of it!

We are using the NOH seasoning and the key is the let it marinate overnight or even up to two days to really let the flavors develop. To make it even easier I also buy the lotus leaf buns in the frozen section, so all you have to do is steam it right before serving! Easy Peasy!

For the dipping sauce, I highly recommend using hoisin sauce. It perfectly melds this all together and is easily available at any Asian market.
