How to make Muối Ớt (Vietnamese Chili Salt)

Feeling a little CHILI?

Today I am sharing with you one of my favorite Vietnamese snack fruit with Muối Ớt aka Vietnamese Chili Salt!

I grew up eating this a lot because it was super easy and it complemented many fruits as well. For example you can also eat this with watermelon, mango or guava. Here’s an example how to do it with pineapple!

It’s crazy to me but actually it’s not common knowledge how to cut open a pineapple! My family ate a lot of pineapple so I was so used to seeing these cut open. The trick is to go diagonal when cutting out the spikes. It does take some time but you get so much more fruit that way. And also it looks super pretty!

I’ve also recently done the watermelon stick cut that’s been trending this year!

For this you cut 1 in sections one way, rotate the melon, then do the same until you have this crosshatch pattern. You’re then left with these cute watermelon sticks!

As always here’s the recipe below but to be honest you can add more chili or salt to taste. I like to start about a 50-50 ratio and go from there!

Until next time!
