OK I feel like Nước Mắm Gừng doesn’t get enough attention. It’s the cousin to the classic Vietnamese dipping sauce nước chấm, but I feel like it does not get enough time in the spotlight!
Nước Mắm Gừng is a traditional ginger & fish sauce based dipping sauce that is used in a lot of Vietnamese cooking. It’s generally served with a lot of chicken dishes as the ginger complements the chicken very well. I made it recently when I made some Instapot chicken Pho and it always hits the spot! It also does well with chicken rice platters or even other chicken noodle dishes.
What I like most about the sauce is it’s very adjustable. So you can add more sugar, lime, or even water to dilute it if it’s too strong according to your taste. So feel free to adjust the recipe and tweak it however you like. Let me know your thoughts, as always, the video is down below in the recipe as well!
Until next time!
