Don’t CHICKEN out, it’s made in the airfryer! Growing up, one of my favorite dishes to get at my local Chinese Buffet was Salt & Pepper Chicken wings.
I really loved them but the amount of oil needed to deep fry them made them heavy and pretty greasy. Lo, and behold! I created an air fryer version! These are perfect for spicing you any game day and are SUPER easy! P.S. they’re so much healthier than the ones growing up.
I made them a few months back and it was always the most requested dish at home so I make it more often now. You can also interchange whatever chili you’re using depending on your spice level. We can’t handle too spice in my home so we go between a jalapeno and serrano chilies. But feel free to turn the heat up a notch.

Airfryer Salt and Pepper Wings

1 lb chicken wings
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/2 c potato starch
2 jalapenos (sliced)
2 green onions (sliced)
2 tbsp veggie oil
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
Directions
- Seasoned wings with 1/2 tsp salt & 1/4 tsp black pepper
- Coat wings in cornstarch
- Airfry wings in a single layer at 380F for 25 mins (flipping wings every 5 mins)
- Heat up oil on med/high heat. Add jalapenos and green onions
- Add salt and black pepper. Stir fry 1-2 mins
- Add wings and fry for 1-2 mins
