I don’t think I can think of an even more classic Vietnamese dish than Com Tam a.k.a broken rice platters. It’s usually jam packed with so many delicious components that you can never pick just one. Today, I’m bringing you a classic Com Suon Nuong but with an easy twist using the airfryer. (Don’t worry, you can always pan fry or traditionally grill these too!)
Com Suon Nuong translates to Grilled Porkchop Rice Platter but since I don’t always have the time or energy to try to ignite my grill, we throwing her in the airfryer. If you don’t understand my love for airfryers by now, then we can’t be friends. Working a full-time job M-F and even Sundays, your girl doesn’t have much time to cook, let alone watch a grill. In comes my airfryer to the rescue, so I can do more important things – like scroll on IG. lol.
Anyways without further ado, here’s my super easy & simple Com Suon Nuong recipe!
Com Suon Nuong (Airfryer/Pan Fry)

1 1/2 lb pork chops
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp fish sauce
1 tbsp dark soy sauce
1 tbsp light soy sauce
2 tbsp veggie oil
4 garlic cloves minced
4 tbsp lemongrass minced
2-3 green onions
1/8 c veggie oil
Directions
- Combine pork chops, brown sugar, fish sauce, dark soy sauce, light soy sauce, 2 tbsp veggie oil, garlic & lemongrass in a bowl or ziploc bag.
- Marinate for 1 1/2 – 2 hrs
- In a small pan on low, add the 1/8 c of veggie oil and 2-3 chopped green onions. Stir fry until fragrant. 1-2 mins.
- Cook pork chops in the airfryer 380 degrees for 14 mins flipping halfway. Alternatively: Pan fry 3-4 mins each side on med to med-high heat.
