I think it’s crystal clear, this candy is a gem! 💎🍬 Fun fact: “Kohakutou” translates to “amber sugar” in Japanese, inspired by its resemblance to precious gemstones like amber.

Iykyk, this Bánh Bột Lọc is the bane of my existence. 🙂‍↕️ However, it’s def worth the work.

Bánh Bột Lọc is served 2 ways and personally for me, the restaurants usually don’t do it justice. In my home, our tapioca dumplings are thiccc and juicyyy. Nothing less. 🐷🦐🍄‍🟫

    •    1/2 lb shrimp (peeled, deveined, chopped)

    •    1 tsp fish sauce
    •    1 tsp sugar
    •    1 tsp chicken boullion
    •    1/4 tsp salt
    •    1/2 tsp black pepper
    •    1 tsp chili powder (optional)
    •    1 tsp sesame oil
    •    1 bag/14oz tapioca starch
    •    1 1/3 c boiling water
    •    1 tsp salt
    •    1 pack frozen banana leaves (rinsed and wiped)

Let’s Xèo away together! 🟡🔥 Bánh Xèo is a Vietnamese street food staple—a crispy, savory crepe with turmeric, coconut milk, and a savory filling of shrimp, pork, my personal fave…squid. It’s served with lettuce, herbs, and an addicting nước mắm dipping sauce.

1 packet (about 14 oz) Bánh Xèo pre-mix
1 tsp turmeric (included with pre-mix)
1 1/2 cups coconut water
1 cup sparking water
1 can (13 fl oz) coconut milk
1 green onion (chopped)
1/8 tsp salt (optional)

Fillings:
1/2 lb pork belly or pork shoulder, thinly sliced
1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
1/2 lb squid, cleaned and thinly sliced
1 small yellow onion, thinly sliced
2 cups bean sprouts (optional)
Veggie oil (for frying)

Serving:
